TODAY'S GLOBAL CRISIS
The Urgent Need for Social, Ecological, and Spiritual Renewal

Rudolf Steiner Institute, Sunday, July 5 - Saturday, July 11, 2009

Three courses will be coordinated with a special emphasis on addressing the social challenges of today.

* Community Building: Meeting Today’s Challenges through Creative Cooperation

* Re-Imagining Capitalism: Surviving the Current Economic Tsunami

* Water, Energy and Climate Changes: Outer and Inner Manifestations of Environmental Problems and Solutions

Each course meets separately for two sessions each day to address global challenges from its unique perspective. In the third session participants from all three courses come together to work artistically and collaboratively in the prototyping and creation of much-needed, new social forms.

Evening programs during this first week are in the format of a community colloquium that integrates artistic presentations, talks by guest speakers, and two panel discussions. Those participating in the course concentration will present the explorations and findings that arise from their collaborative efforts.

Courses are open to all, with a special invitation to the young and to anyone with an interest in starting, continuing, or connecting with socially progressive initiatives. This three-course block is co-sponsored by the Rudolf Steiner Institute and Think OutWord, a peer-led training in Social Threefolding. All three courses are accompanied by group artistic activities with Laura Summer and others.
