Walking a Wakeful Path

Some find their way to meditation seeking to quell experiences of pain, anxiety, and confusion; others seek experiences of euphoria and bliss. But beyond the dichotomy of pleasure and pain, many people approach an inner path, meditation, in response to deep life questions and existential dilemmas – what am I doing here? How do I approach certainty and truth? Can we perceive beyond our senses? How can I evolve my consciousness in service of the world?

Our upcoming weekend conference will strive to offer an entry (or a re-entry) for individuals seeking to align their outer working and relationships to an inner source of guidance, and explore the anthroposophical meditative path. We will once again meet in the tradition of a peer-led format consisting of open spaces for conversation, prepared offerings and exercises led by individuals, and artistic exploration. We are also pleased to welcome Lisa Romero to our circle, an Anthroposophical homeopath visiting from Australia, who leads meditation workshops in Australia, Asia and here in the States.

• Cost: Think OutWord conferences are financially supported by free gifts from participants and others who donate to our work. If every attendee donates $50 – $100 we would be able to cover the costs of our next conference. Please contact us with any questions.

• Reading: There is no required reading for the conference. However, if you would like to familiarize yourself with the anthroposophical meditative path in advance of the conference, below please find the first two chapters of Knowledge of the Higher Worlds by Rudolf Steiner.

• Miscellaneous: Please bring a sleeping bag and mat as some people might end up on floors and couches (let us know if this sounds too basic to meet your needs and we’ll work something else out). Also, please bring a to-go for hot beverages and a water bottle.
